In the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year, SKGians explored the festival through integrated MTL-CCE lessons.

学生通过老师的提问、同学间的讨论以及体验式活动，培养了对文化的兴趣，提升了语文应用能力，并通过手工作品展现自己的理解与思考。

Through these learning experiences, SKGians developed curiosity by asking questions to understand more about cultural practices and applied their language skills in authentic contexts by sharing ideas through creative artworks.

农历新年庆祝会 Chinese New Year Celebration
农历除夕当天，校园里锣鼓喧天，热闹非凡。舞狮表演为新年节庆揭开序幕，康林师生也带来了充满活力的精彩演出。学生们还近距离与舞狮互动，在欢腾的气氛中感受浓厚的新年节日氛围。

The school welcomed Chinese New Year with a vibrant celebration. The campus came alive with the thunderous beats of the Lion Dance, joined by the energetic performance of our SKGian Mini Lion Dancers. SKGians also enjoyed interacting with the lions.

校长与学校咨询委员会（School Advisory Committee）及家长会（Parent Support Group）呈献书法展示，书写成语 “一马当先”，寓意勇于带头，充满信心地向前迈进。

Our Principal, together with our key partners—— the School Advisory Committee and Parent Support Group—— presented a calligraphy showcase featuring the idiom “一马当先” (Charge Ahead) , symbolising courage, initiative and perseverance.

在欢腾喜庆的氛围中，庆祝活动圆满画上句点。康林师生与来宾们一同品尝年糕，寓意新的一年步步高升、不断进步。

The celebration ended on a sweet note as SKGians and staff enjoyed Nian Gao, representing growth and progress in the year ahead.

体验式学习活动 School-Wide Experiential Learning

书法与印章体验 Calligraphy and Seal Stamping
学生体验传统文化活动，如书写新春挥春和盖印篆章。每位学生都在自己的书法作品上盖上 “一马当先” 的印章，在学习成语含义的同时，也理解其所蕴含的意义。学生们在练习书写笔画的过程中展现了坚持不懈的精神。
SKGians experienced traditional cultural practices such as writing festive calligraphy and seal stamping. Each student stamped the idiom “一马当先” on their own calligraphy artwork, learning both its meaning and symbolic values. They displayed grit in mastering the strokes.

“人日”庆祝活动 Celebration of Ren Ri

农历正月初七，也称“人日”。在这一天，新加坡华人有“捞鱼生”的习俗。康林学生也在这一天学习“捞鱼生”的含义。学生们一同参与捞鱼生活动，并齐声说出吉祥祝语，如“年年有余”。通过这一祝语，学生了解到“余”与“鱼”同音，进而体会华语中的谐音之美与文字的趣味，让学习华文更加有趣。

On the 7th day of the first lunar month (Ren Ri), SKGians learnt about the cultural significance of yusheng, a unique part of local Chinese culture. As they tossed the yusheng and recited auspicious phrases, they applied Chinese in an authentic context. Phrases such as “年年有余”, where “鱼” (fish) sounds like “余” (surplus), helped students appreciate how language and wordplay express hopes for prosperity and abundance.

元宵节庆祝活动 Celebration of Yuan Xiao

农历正月十五元宵节，康林师生一同品尝象征“团圆、和谐与美满”的汤圆。学生们也侃侃而谈，分享自己的学习体验。老师在回顾活动的过程中，进一步巩固语言学习，并加深学生对华族文化的认识。
On the 15th day of the first lunar month (Yuan Xiao), SKGians and staff enjoyed tangyuan 汤圆 together — symbolising reunion, harmony and togetherness. SKGians reflected on their experiences through discussions, reinforcing language learning and cultural understanding.

社区与伙伴合作：芬微民众俱乐部表演 Community and Partnerships: Performance at Fernvale CC

学生通过参与社区活动，将学习延伸至校园外。我们的华族舞蹈和武术队也在芬微民众俱乐部的新春庆祝活动中呈献精彩表演。

SKGians also extended their learning beyond the school through community engagement and performances at Fernvale Community Club.
